About the course
Licensed premises have a clear safeguarding responsibility under the Licensing Act 2003, particularly in relation to public safety and the protection of children from harm. Vulnerability can arise quickly in social, alcohol‑led environments and may affect both adults and children. This short CPD course helps staff recognise the signs of vulnerability, understand their safeguarding responsibilities, and know how to respond appropriately. It focuses on early identification, calm intervention, correct escalation and accurate recording, rather than enforcement or investigation. The course is practical, proportionate and designed to support staff at all levels in helping keep customers safe while protecting the premises licence.
